snow blues

It's snowing. it's snowing and it's almost April. I DON'T WANT IT TO SNOW! it's gonna kill the flowers my mom just planted. actually, the snow isn't the real problem. it's the WIND. yeah. i went out to take care of the chickens this morning and it was soooooooooooo cold and soooooooooooooooooooooo windy and the wind was sssssssoooooooooooooooooooooooooo cold it wasn't funny. it froze my fingers!!!!!!

I WANT SPRING!!!!!!

Spring Formal

I have the power!!!!! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!! meh, it's just a driver's permit. nothing worth shouting about. I think the only people who know I HAVE a permit would be the people my mom talks to (she brags on me a lot) and you. I should have got one sooner, but I wasn't really interested in driving. I'm still not sure if I want to, but i do so much stuff that it doesn't make sence for my mom to be driving me around everywhere all the time so it's about time I started driving.

another thing that just recently happened that should have happened years and years ago was me finally getting a hair straightener they haven't been a high priority, but I've gotten tired of fighting my hair, so I got one. there another random thing that just points out how behind I am. *sigh*

The Spring Formal/Prom thingy was last night. just a big fancy dinner with a ton of teens from my homeschool group. the dress I was in looked nice and by the end of the evening, I was about ready to kill the person who invented heels. they're probubly already dead though. it was a very nice evening. in case you are wondering, no we did not dance or have dates. that might sound a little lame, but none of the boys would have gone with that idea. the girls and boys segregate themselves into groups. like, boys on one wall and girls on the other. we don't do this on purpose, it just happens. so yeah, we were all happy there wasn't dancing.

LUCK O DE IRISH

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

right now I'm doing nothing. soon I'm going to be at the library for writers group.

It's the day of green! yay! we had lucky charms for breakfast (very Irish dontcha know) and doughnuts with green sprinkles for breakfast. we had a salad for lunch and we're having potatoes and chicken for dinner. one year my mom put food coloring in the mashed potatoes (green of course) and washed it down with green milk...yeah. that was taking it a little too far. I think we're gonna be eating green jello this evening, but i don't think we're going to have green potatoes. once is enough.

Speaking of green, I wish the land around here would get with the program and dress in that blessed color. seriously, I'm getting so sick of BROWN!

sorry snowman

it snowed yesterday. lots of wet mushy snow. It's all gone 'cept for the small, sorry excuse for a snowman. I was hoping winter was over, but apparently I was wrong. I'm so ready for spring. sniff.

Ya know that Kangaroo doesn't mean "large hopping creature?" it really means "I don't understand." so that means that we have a whole bunch of "I-dont-understands" hoping around Australia. and here I was thinking the whole time that Kangaroo is what Adam named the poor creature. I wonder what it's real name is then...

energy eating wind!

this wind is driving me crazy! it's 80 degrees outside and i can't enjoy it because it's so windy and the wind is blowing dirt in my face and the wind also has a way of taking every little ounce of energy out of you! I'm so tired it's not funny. my nose is also running (which it never does) and I've got a head ache. ick. I KNOW I'm not the only one who's suffering right now because my whole family and a few of my friends are also experiencing some sort of fatigue from the wind. I'd hope it would stop soon, but after living on the high planes for two years, I know that it is a false hope. I'd also grin and bear it, but then I'd get dirt in my teeth. bye!

Wind Project and the Black Hole

So yeah. it took me forever, and I mean FOREVER to find this music for the wind video. I finally got it and a link to some other cool songs (thanks Aub) and have the project nearly completed. yay! they only thing I'm having trouble with is disagreements about the music with my client. I KNOW that in the business world, the customer is always right and I guess I'm just going to have to learn how to accept that. *sighs*

It was 81 degrees here today and about the same temp yesterday. I am thoroughly enjoying it! the only problem is that we had the windows open and now my Driver's ED text book is full of dust and little bits of grass. ick. grimy paper.

For some reason, all our pens keep disappearing. I have to hunt the house for one before I sit down to do my school work. I'm guessing they disappear into the black hole with the rest of the stuff we can't find. speaking of stuff i can't find, I found three T-shirts I'd lost nearly two months about between my headboard and the wall. now how the heck did they get there?!?!? I'm just going to blame the black hole again cuz that's the easiest thing to do.

tomorrow I'm going BACK to Bovina to re-shoot a few scenes for the wind video. this one guy kept mumbling and this lady's dog wouldn't shut up! the mayor was also sick the last time I went so I'm going to film him as well. I really want to see this project to completion, but I'll be really glad when it's over.

The Wind vid and Used Values

I’m currently working on a commercial/promotional video for this one town that wants to get wind turbines. The town is called Bovina and it’s in Texas. Not everyone is happy with the idea, so one of town council members approached me with the idea of the commercial about why wind energy would be good for their community. I did some interviews with a few of the town’s people who are for the whole wind energy thing on the 19th.

One of the first stops was this store called Used Values. It’s basically an antique shop, except all the antiques are from one person. Well, one Lady and her husband. I guess that would be two people...but i think most of the stuff was hers. I kid you not, the shop was as large as a poll barn and crammed with every kind of object you could think of. It’s like the lady, Marie (she’s 80 something) never got rid of anything! Seriously, she should be in the world record book for being the world’s largest pack-rat. I’m not trying to be mean; I’m trying to give you a mental picture of what the place looked like. I’ve never seen so much junk in my life. I had to take off my coat just to walk down the unorganized isles of…well, junk! There were piles of old records stacked from floor to ceiling and as I said, it’s a poll barn, so the ceiling is really high. This picture doesn’t even do it justice! Get this, she’s got two more whole barns with stuff like that in it! Two barns! Unbelievable!

I am now in the editorial process with this vid and I am scared to death I'm going to mess up! this is the first project where I've had do do something like this on my own. usually, I have either Mr. John or Mrs. Betty giving me pointers. right now, however, they are in Dallas! so this project is all mine. Mrs. Gina said she'll be happy with anything I put out and she knows I'll do my best. I just hope my best is good enough....
